Israeli attack against Palestinian civil society organizations: the government intervenes promptly.<\/p><\/h3><\/div>

The Organisations, Networks and Platforms signatory to this appeal, solicited by the Italian organizations operating in Palestine, express their <\/span>condemnation and great concern for the very serious act of violence<\/span><\/strong> that took place this morning, 18 August, which saw <\/span>the Israeli army raid the six o\u2019clock offices Palestinian NGOs<\/span><\/strong> ( <\/span>Al-Haq, Bisan Center for Research and Development, Defense for Children International-Palestine, the Union of Agricultural Work Committees<\/span><\/em> and the <\/span>Union of Palestinian Women\u2019s Committees<\/span><\/em> ) designated by the Israeli Ministry of Defense as terrorist organizations on October 19, 2021 and, subsequently, by the Military Commander on November 3, 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n The military seized computers and materials and sealed the doors of the six offices<\/strong> , all located in Ramallah, posting a permanent closure order, signed by the Commander of the Israeli army in the West Bank. The provision states that illegal activities are carried out in the offices of these organizations.<\/p>\n In recent months, no evidence has been provided by the Israeli government to support the designation of the six NGOs as terrorist organizations<\/strong> , despite repeated requests expressed both by the NGOs themselves and by numerous governments and international institutions.<\/p>\n Even the Italian government<\/strong><\/a> , together with eight other governments of member countries of the European Union, has publicly declared that, in the absence of concrete evidence, the solid collaboration<\/strong> with six organizations that for decades have been committed at the highest level to the defense and promotion of humans in the Occupied Palestinian Territory would continue.<\/strong><\/p>\n We believe that this morning\u2019s events are an affront on the part of the Government of Israel<\/strong> and an unacceptable reaction to the legitimate stances taken<\/strong> by the nine European governments, which, moreover, are entirely similar to those adopted by the States themselves and by the European Union in the past in similar situations of non-compliance with international human rights protection standards.<\/p>\n The attack on those who defend and promote respect for human rights <\/span>delegitimizes the use of peaceful and legal means for the resolution of the conflict<\/span><\/strong> , effectively reinforcing the most extremist positions in a time of worrying escalation of violence, which leaves the civilian population both sides further vulnerable.<\/span><\/p>\n Go to the press release<\/a><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong>AOI \u2013 CINI \u2013 Link2007 \u2013 Platform of Italian NGOs in the Mediterranean and Middle East <\/span> Le Organizzazioni, Reti e Piattaforma firmatarie di questo appello, sollecitate dalle organizzazioni italiane operanti in Palestina, esprimono condanna e grande preoccupazione per il gravissimo atto di violenza <\/strong>avvenuto questa mattina, 18 agosto, che ha visto l\u2019esercito israeliano fare irruzione negli uffici delle sei ONG palestinesi<\/strong> (Al-Haq, Bisan Center for Research and Development, Defence for Children International-Palestine, the Union of Agricultural Work Committees <\/em>e la Union of Palestinian Women\u2019s Committees<\/em>) designate dal Ministero della Difesa israeliano quali organizzazioni terroristiche il 19 ottobre 2021 e, successivamente, dal Comandante Militare il 3 novembre 2021.<\/p>\n I militari hanno sequestrato computer e materiale e sigillato le porte dei sei uffici<\/strong>, tutti situati a Ramallah, affiggendovi un ordine di chiusura permanente, firmato dal Comandante dell\u2019Esercito Israeliano in Cisgiordania.
