Fundraising and dignity, a possible combination?

Link2007 gladly accepted to be part of the working group that intends to open a debate on the communication adopted by numerous fund raisers working in the non-profit sector: often they are harrowing images of children, exhausted, used to arouse pity. The lively controversies on the use of images and related messages in fundraising are often divided between those who advocate the “end justifies the means” and those who, instead, label this method of fundraising as “pornography of pain”. Therefore, the proposal to go beyond the controversy seemed very interesting to us, suggesting moments of confrontation and points of convergence and putting forward proposals that involve and co-responsibilize not only social actors, but also the world of communication and institutions.
