The Council of Ministers approved the DEF, Economic and Financial Document 2017, now being examined by Parliament. It is the main instrument of Italy’s economic-financial planning and indicates the economic and public finance strategy in the medium term. In section 1, “Stability program for Italy”, the Focus on Public Development Assistance (ODA) summarizes the commitment to gradually realign Italy to international standards for development cooperation.
Furthermore, the planning and guidance document for the 2017-2019 three-year period will also have to be presented shortly, given that the one approved by the CICS on 23 March 2017, with a one-year delay, concerns the 2016-2018 three-year period. The connection with the DEF forecasts is evident and is an opportunity for some clarifications and some corrections with respect to the past.
