Evaluating the impact of international development cooperation

06/05/2018

We are pleased to present you the dossier “Impact assessment of international cooperation”, in its ENGLISH version.
The dossier was created by a working group made up of Link2007 NGO operators and Social Value experts.
After its presentation in Italian, last February 9, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the document was widely taken up and shared by operators and experts in the sector, who now consider it essential to deepen the topic, in its specific characteristics.
In fact, international cooperation requires, in order to carry out a correct evaluation of the impact of its interventions, the development of specific methodologies adapted to the contexts, which are often very complex.
What we are presenting is not a point of arrival, but the starting point for sharing a working hypothesis with the institutions, NGO operators and experts, which still requires further study and experimentation.
We considered it essential to translate the text into English, in order to maximize the possibility of sharing our methodological proposal with European and international realities.
On the other hand, it is precisely from the analysis of what already exists in other countries and international organizations that we have managed to develop a proposal that we consider useful and concretely usable.

We are pleased to present the “Impact Evaluation in International Cooperation” English version dossier. A work group composed of Link2007 NGO operators and Social Value experts realized it.
After its presentation in an Italian version – on the last February 9th – within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and of International Cooperation, the document has been adopted and shared among operators and experts in the field, that retain essential to pursue this matter in its specific characteristics.
Indeed, the International Cooperation requires – for a correct impact evaluation of its interventions – the development of specific methodologies adapted to each (often-complex) context.
Today we are not presenting an end-point, but a starting line of discussion to be shared among institutions, NGO operators and other experts, a working hypothesis that still deserves reflection and studies.
We felt that it was essential to produce an English translation of the text, to increase as much as possible the possibility of sharing with European and International realities our methodological proposal.
Moreover, it is thanks to the analysis of the pre-existent international work on the theme that we were able to start and develop a tool that we consider useful and truly usable.
