Development cooperation in the 2021-2023 budget law

The strictly national vision of the global crisis contained in the budget law is surprising. Internal inequalities that generate fragility correspond to growing global inequalities where fragility translates into hundreds of millions of permanently poor people, deprived of every opportunity by an unfair system that favors disparities, waste and indifference, favoring particular interests to the detriment of the common good. We are immersed in an immoral and unsustainable structural system that “international cooperation for sustainable development, human rights and peace” – as stated in the first article of the law – intends to overcome by involving people and communities, building equal partnerships with them and enhancing their potential, bringing solidarity but also justice and strength for change, trying to affect the roots of inequalities and the causes of fragility.
