The killing of Ambassador Luca Attanasio, of Carabiniere Vittorio Iacovacci and of the driver Mustapha Milambo north of Goma in the Democratic Republic of Congo, brings us back today to the long work carried out by the networks of NGOs AOI, CINI, LINK 2007 between 2014 and 2015 on the issue of the safety of operators working in risk areas.

In September 2015, in a public conference with the participation of the then Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Paolo Gentiloni, the three networks presented and made public three summary documents, elaborated in an active dialogue with the Farnesina Crisis Unit :

Principles of collaboration NGOs and UDCs

NGOs and UDC Dossier “Safety Tips”

At the same time, the site created by SISCOS ” HEALTH GUIDE FOR EXPATRIES”  “was presented.
