The Link2007 network has decided to adhere with conviction to the day of fasting for peace in Ukraine, as proposed by the Holy Father Francis for Wednesday 2 March. «A day to be close to the suffering of the Ukrainian people, to feel all brothers and sisters and implore God for an end to the war. […] Those who wage war forget humanity. He doesn’t start from the people, he doesn’t look at the concrete life of the people, but puts partisan and power interests first. […] Jesus taught us that the diabolical senselessness of violence is answered with the weapons of God: with prayer and fasting» . Link2007 also adheres to Pope Francis’ appeal to political personalities to make a serious examination of conscience: «I pray to all the parties involved to refrain from any action that causes even more suffering to the populations, destabilizing coexistence between nations and discrediting international law ».
