Migrations and international cooperation for development

This document was presented on the occasion of the International Workshop “Integrating Migration into Development: Diaspora as a Development Enabler, Rome, 2-3 October 2014”, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and by IOM, the International Organization for Migrations, in the framework of the Italian presidency of the EU Council.
This work intends to be a contribution to the reflection on a topic of great actuality and relevance. Elements of the international and European debate are taken up, placing them in the geopolitical contexts closest to Europe and Italy, in their demographic and migratory dynamics and in their future projection, to outline elements of political strategy and possible cooperation actions.
