09/07/2022

At the panel “Finance for development. Resources and tools beyond public development aid” was attended by Daniele Franco, Minister of Economy and Finance, Federico Bonaglia, Deputy Director of the OECD Development Centre, Dario Scannapieco, Chief Executive Officer of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, Francesco Profumo, President of the Association of Foundations and Savings Banks ACRI, Sister Alessandra Smerilli, Secretary of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development of the Holy See and Valeria Emmi.

In an unprecedented world, with a paradigm of economic and financial rules that fuel disparities and injustices, with a crisis that is further impoverishing already fragile countries, an urgent, robust and bold initiative for debt restructuring and reconversion is needed. Emmi relaunches the Release G20 initiative, proposed by the LINK 2007 network on the occasion of the 2021 Italian presidency of the G20. This is an intervention on the debt which is indispensable in order to be able to promote prosperity, fair and inclusive growth and sustainable development also in indebted countries.
