LINK 2007 greets the election of Pope Leo XIV with respect and attention. His first words strongly recalled the universal value of peace, to be built with humility, perseverance and trust in dialogue, of bridges to be built between peoples, of a humanity united in mutual care. These are words that also resonate deeply in the daily commitment of the organisations in our network, which work in the world’s most fragile contexts to promote dignity, rights and social justice. In a time marked by wars, inequalities and environmental crises, LINK 2007 recognises in the new Pope’s message a strong and shareable appeal: to walk together without fear, with hands and heart open to encounter.
